America population doubled and also gold was discovered in the Northern Georgia. Therefore, the government decided to remove native Americans, Indians, who are living in that areas. There was some people who wanted to stay and fight. However, President Martin Van Buren sent General Winfield Scott and 7,000 soldiers to expedite the removal process. The Indians were eventually forced to move and marched more than 1,200 miles to Indian territory, and 4000 of them, approximately, 1/3 of the Cherokee people died as on the way to Oklahoma.

Andrew Jackson kicked native Americans out of America. He justified this tyranny by saying that Americans didn't want to harm native Americans, and if native Americans stayed in America, they would lose their tradition and culture. Also, because he didnt want to be mixed with native Americans, he kicked them out. And the road that native Americans walked when they were being kicked out of America. Oregon Trail was similar with the Trail of Tears. Some poor Americans wanted to get opportunity to be rich, and they believed that if they arrive in Oregon, they would be rich. But on the Oregon Trail, many people died because of babybirth, disease, exhaustion, and so on.
